100 Students Participate Hanjaba Competition in Seribu Island

Seribu Island Library and Archive's Technical Working Unit 1 Section held Jakarta Children's Reading Day (Hanjaba) 2024 on Pramuka Island, Seribu Utara Island Sub-district. The competition was participated by 100 students of elementary up to junior high school.

Seribu Island Technical Working Unit 1 Section Head, Agni Kurnia Asdianto, said Hanjaba is a yearly event held from city/regency to province level.

Agni explained that Hanjaba can be an effective means of fostering self-confidence, critical thinking skills, imagination, and being able to convey participants' ideas and thoughts.
"We want to provide a better next generation in the Seribu Islands," he added.
Seribu Island Library and Archive Technical Working Unit 1 Section Head, Windarwati, said the implementation of the Hanjaba competition categories includes Speech Drawing and Coloring, Speaking, Poetry Reading, and Comic Strips.
"Each categories is participated by 20 students. The participants were very enthusiastic, hopefully this can encourage interest in reading, public speaking, and develop the creativity of children and teenagers," she said.
